I teach weekly yoga & meditation classes, courses ranging from 4 weeks to 9 months, and also love working with individuals one on one to develop a personalized practice or wellness support that suits one’s needs and lifestyle.

What do clients “go home with” after working with me? I offer pathways to foster overall wellness that range from physical, mental, emotional, and sacred support. I help individuals feel empowered, nurtured, and connected to their whole selves — body, mind, and heart — that ripples into their relationships with self, others and life.

    This multifaceted program is designed for practitioners and teachers of yoga wanting to deepen their knowledge of yoga’s philosophical roots and how to apply its wisdom experientially into our lives through practice. Evolving Our Yoga Studies Program was developed by in 2013, designed for those who practice yoga and are looking for an immersive course experience outside of a traditional teacher training, or continuing education for those who are teachers. We focus on the “why” behind certain practices, de-center the emphasis on only postural yoga, and invite study of the subtle practices to weave yoga’s essence into our modern lifestyle, welcoming its fullest potential in our lives. Currently EYS is divided into three tiers, or immersive courses.

  • Evolving Our Yoga Studies Program

    The Moon Tier ~ Chandra Sadhana

    Yoga & the mind, the Potency of Meditation, and the Healing Potential of Practice

    The Moon Tier is a rich and impactful course where we highlight the tha part of Hatha Yoga (“tha” means moon). We emphasize an approach to practice that cultivates grounding, receptivity, steadiness, and self reflection. We cultivate a more regulated nervous system and a clearer mind, unlocking yoga’s aim to be a liberatory practice, allowing us to loosen the grip of automatic patterns sourced in beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve us and perpetuate suffering. We all crave clarity, connection, and an abiding & compassionate awareness as we encounter the range of emotions and experiences that life brings. We aim to embody these qualities as we center the nature of our mind and our relationship with it through exploration of the unbreakable bond of the body/mind, the study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (chapters 1 & 2), and the potency that slowing down and stillness offers us (eventually;) through practices of meditation, yoga nidra (sacred rest), and deep listening to reveal our inner knowing (our dhi). A typical class would feature some context setting and discussion, movement through a slow flow yoga asana sequence, and a significant share of time with the subtle practices such as pranayama (breath practice), meditation, yoga nidra, and/or self inquiry prompts for reflection.

    The Yoga of Breath

    Over the summer I co-led a retreat where the breath became the main practice thread, and proved a potent experience for all who attended. I want to continue this theme in our fall learning lab through this virtual 6 week series. Each class will be recorded, so if the live meeting times don’t work, join us when your schedule allows.     The format of these classes will include an initial welcoming and context setting, brief breath centered slow flow movement sequence, followed with a breath practice focus and brief meditation.
