I came to yoga in 1999, and was hooked immediately. Since that time and the cultivation of many years of a dedicated practice and sincere study, I regard the system of yoga and meditation as some of the best technology available to improve the health of the body, stability and clarity of the mind, and open the pathways to the supreme treasure in every heart. I have been serving the Madison area as a passionate yoga and meditation teacher since 2004.
I received my first teaching certifications in 2003 and 2004 through the Integral Yoga Institute, and in 2007 met my teacher and mentor, modern day master Yogarupa Rod Stryker, and have been closely studying and teaching the practice of ParaYoga, an approach to yoga that preserves the wisdom and potency of the yoga tradition while remaining relevant to the modern day practitioner. I am currently a 500hr level teacher and received ParaYoga Level 1 certification in the spring of 2014.
I firmly believe we all have the capacity to live a life that is meaningful, authentic, and inspired, and that we can greatly support our health and vitality at the same time. Yoga is a system that supports us in all of these aspects to a full life, helping us uncover our unique nature and casting light into what we’re not seeing clearly – what unconscious patterns are holding us back. With clear knowledge and the tools to shift our deep seated patterning, we unlock our freedom, become more effective in our efforts, less bogged down in our challenges, and embody our potential.
Aside from yoga, I spend my time raising my two daughters with my gem of a husband. Other interests include photography, sustainable living, and spending as much free time in, around, or on top of water – particularly the Great Lakes.
